Our number-one goal is to get this information circulated throughout our communities.
Everything we have created—the Financial Literacy From Scratch YouTube course, SeeYourDollar.com, the Financial Literacy From Scratch workbook, and Generational Wealth: Rich From the Inside Out—was created to help accomplish that mission.
These are not separate products with unrelated purposes. They are connected resources within one educational ecosystem.
At See Your Dollar, our ultimate goal is to provide our communities with a practical framework for understanding finances, taking control of their financial futures, and becoming familiar with the necessary steps that align with the wealth-building process. But we also want people to understand how to succeed with upright morals, discipline, integrity, accountability, consistency, and honorable principles.
We recognize that someone can attend school, earn a degree, receive a formal education, and be considered highly educated while still lacking a practical understanding of finances.
A person can learn how to perform a job and earn an income without ever being taught what to do with that income once they receive it. They may know how to make money without fully understanding how to manage it, save it, or invest it. They may also lack an understanding of inflation, borrowing, interest, equity, and the financial decisions that can affect their future.
That is the gap See Your Dollar was created to help fill.
We also recognize that some people may one day be drawn toward earning money unlawfully because of the promise of fast money and immediate returns. In that moment, the attraction of an immediate payout can make it easy to overlook the lasting consequences of that decision.
Part of our mission is to help people recognize the greater long-term rewards of pursuing and remaining consistent with lawful and sustainable ways of earning income. We want them to understand that lawful income, when managed wisely, saved consistently, and invested in productive assets, can help preserve their freedom, strengthen their stability, and create lasting financial progress.
At the same time, we recognize that many young people are already pursuing lawful paths toward success, including careers in sports, entertainment, and other high-earning fields. Some may eventually receive life-changing paydays—even millions of dollars—without ever having been taught how to manage, protect, or grow that money.
Another part of our mission is to help prepare them before the opportunity arrives. Earning a large sum can create immediate financial success, but understanding cash flow, saving, investing, ownership, and sound financial decision-making is what can help them preserve what they earn, build upon it, and transform that achievement into lasting wealth.
The See Your Dollar framework is not limited to one profession, industry, or method of earning money. It can be applied regardless of the path a person chooses in life.
Someone may earn money through an hourly job, a salaried career, a skilled trade, a licensed profession, entrepreneurship, business ownership, or a combination of different income-producing activities. The way people earn their money may be different, but the need to understand how to manage, protect, use, and grow that money remains the same.
See Your Dollar is not here to tell every person which career, trade, profession, or business they should pursue. Different people will choose different paths based on their interests, abilities, opportunities, and goals.
Our purpose is to provide a financial framework that can be applied after they choose that path.
We are not simply teaching people how to complete isolated financial tasks. We are helping them understand the overall game they are already participating in.
Our philosophy is simple:
“Let’s understand the game first; then strategize!"
We call our basic learning approach the "Sitting With Wisdom Method."
The idea comes from the experience of sitting down with an OG, elder, mentor, teacher, or wise and experienced person.
When you have an opportunity to sit with someone who possesses knowledge and experience, your first responsibility is to listen.
You must be attentive.
You must pay attention to what is being said.
You must be willing to receive the information before you can understand it, apply it, or pass it to someone else.
The Financial Literacy From Scratch course creates a modern opportunity for someone to sit with wisdom.
The learner does not have to be in the same physical room with Professor Gee. Through the videos, they can still sit down, listen, receive the information, think about what was said, and begin applying it to their life.
We encourage people to treat every short lesson like completing a repetition in the gym.
Five minutes today.
Seven minutes tomorrow.
Ten minutes another day.
Every time a person sits down and listens, they complete another learning repetition. As those repetitions accumulate, their understanding becomes stronger.
The "Sitting With Wisdom Method" can be summarized through four actions:
LISTEN.
Give the lesson your attention and receive the information being shared.
DISCUSS.
Talk about what you heard. Ask what the learner thought and what they understood from the lesson.
APPLY.
Use the website, workbook, or a real-life example to put the information into practice.
SHARE.
Introduce the information to the next person and continue the cycle.
No single person and no single organization can reach everybody.
However, all of us can help echo the same message.
We have created the information.
We have organized it into short, digestible lessons.
We have made it accessible online.
We have developed practical financial tools.
We have created an optional workbook to support comprehension and application.
We have also created a character-development resource to help people understand the principles required to use the information responsibly.
Now we need help circulating it.
We are not asking parents, educators, mentors, or organizations to recreate financial education from the ground up.
We are asking them to help us circulate the financial education we have already created.
If you are a parent, sit down and watch a lesson with your child.
If you are an educator, introduce a lesson to your students.
If you are a mentor, discuss the information with the young people you serve.
If you lead an organization, help us place the information in front of your community.
If you understand a lesson, share it with someone who may not have received that information before.
You do not have to purchase the workbook to participate. You do not have to teach the entire course yourself. You do not need to be a financial expert.
You only need to be willing to introduce the information, encourage someone to listen, and begin a conversation about what they learned.
Our vision is simple:
We share the information with you.
You share it with the next person.
They share it with someone else.
That is how the information travels.
That is how understanding grows.
That is how we begin closing the financial-education gap.
And that is how we begin strengthening households and communities—one lesson, one conversation, and one person at a time.
LEARN IT. UNDERSTAND IT. APPLY IT. SHARE IT.
See Your Dollar provides a connected educational ecosystem designed to help individuals understand finances, develop strong principles, and become familiar with the steps that align with the wealth-building process.
